BUILD THE HABIT.

Stop overthinking. Pick up your camera. Make the damn video.

Most people spend years waiting for the perfect moment to start making videos. Now imagine joining people from around the world who are all building one simple habit: making the damn video.

With this month’s challenge, you'll stop waiting for the perfect moment and build the habit of documenting the moments that matter. Whether it's family memories, behind the scenes of your business, your travels or the hobbies you love. Too many moments never get recorded because we think we’ll do it later. Not this month.

We’re doing the August 2026 Summer Challenge together.

"I'll film it tomorrow."

TOMORROW NEVER COMES.

Tomorrow becomes next week. Next week becomes next month. Before you know it, another season has passed, and you've barely picked up your camera. I get it. Life gets busy. Perfection creeps in. Somehow pressing record always feels like something you'll do later. That's exactly why we build the habit together.

The August 2026 Summer Challenge builds the habit of making the damn video through simple daily prompts that help you capture the moments that matter and create short, purposeful videos that fit around your everyday life. The goal isn't just to finish a challenge. It’s to become someone who naturally reaches for their camera and documents their life.

HOW YOU’LL START TO BUILD THE HABIT.

JOIN

Start with everyone else.

Register for the August Summer Challenge. Begin on the 1st with people from around the world building the same habit.

BUILD

One prompt. One damn video.

Complete one short daily prompt for seven days and start building the habit of making the damn video.

LIVE

Life happens. That’s okay.

You don't have to be perfect to build a habit. If you miss a day, catch up when you can and keep moving forward.

CONTINUE

Keep the habit going.

The seven days might be over, but the habit has only just begun. Weekly prompts help you keep filming throughout the rest of the month.

WHAT YOUR AUGUST WILL LOOK LIKE.

  • WEEK 1: One simple prompt each day for seven days. We'll all start together on the 1st, creating short videos up to 60 seconds that fit around real life. The aim isn't perfection. It's building the habit of making the damn video.

  • WEEK 2: One new prompt. Now that you've built some momentum, we'll slow things down. You'll have the whole week to create one video, giving you more time to think, experiment and enjoy the process.

  • WEEK 3: Another weekly prompt. By now, picking up your camera should feel far more natural. This week is about reinforcing the habit so it sticks beyond the challenge.

  • WEEK 4: No new prompt. Catch up if you need to. Revisit an earlier prompt. Or simply keep documenting whatever matters to you.

  • END OF THE MONTH: We'll meet live. I'll share the biggest lessons I noticed across everyone's videos, answer your questions, and reveal next month's challenge.

  • NEW CHALLENGE: Choose whether to join in September. If you're enjoying the momentum, we start again on the 1st. Join in the new challenge if you want to maintain a habit of making videos.

A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING…

BUILD THE HABIT OF MAKING THE DAMN VIDEO.

You don't need a better camera. Stop waiting for the perfect moment. You just need to start.

We all start together on the 1st of August.

WHY I CREATED MAKE THE DAMN VIDEO

For the last decade, I've been figuring out how to make filming fit around real life, not perfect days. Building a business, raising two young kids, and trying to capture moments without feeling like I had to turn every outing into a film production. Over time, I realised the biggest obstacle wasn't my camera. I was the one getting in my own way. I would overthink, I’d want everything to be perfect, and I was obsessed with making every video “cinematic”, which made the process take far longer than it should have.

So I started simplifying the way I filmed. I focused on documenting instead of producing, whih allowed me to film in a way that naturally fit around my busy life instead of competing with it. That's exactly what Make The Damn Video is all about. I’m not here to help you make “better” videos. I’m here to help you become someone who makes the damn video.

See you on the 1st of August.
